Are two Fannys better than one?

Hi Fanny Fans!

I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news today.  You might remember last time I reported a possible blogger collaboration?

Well, that’s not going to happen. Let me explain.

Last week I was so excited to find out that there was a lot more than just one Fanny on the internet! I came across this Fanny:

ftf

Fanny The Foodie! Perfect. She’s from Switzerland, so I thought we could bond over being outside the EU as well as sharing a name.

Looking at her profile, I couldn’t believe how many languages she spoke. Fanny only has one tongue I’m afraid but she clearly can take a few!

So I thought I’d get in touch about a possible collab:

No reply. Fair enough, I’m sure at her age Fanny is very busy .So I followed up to check:

Still no reply. Wow. So it seems Swiss Fanny isn’t interested in rubbing shoulders with English Fanny! It’s a shame, because I feel with global turmoil heating up, Fannys need to stick together.

I had such high hopes for us working together, we could have helped each other, I could have been the wind beneath Fannys wings so to speak.

I can’t deny the whole experience has left a sour taste in Fanny’s mouth, but what can I do? I suppose I just have to suck it up.

Have you ever been blanked by someone? Should Fanny get pissy with her or just loosen up?

Fanny’s 2016 Round-Up

Hi Fanny Fans!

Yes, I know, it’s been a long time ago since Fanny’s last post.

So let me just give you the low-down about what’s been happening in 2016 – what a year!

January to March

So me and Dick started dating in February. From the very first moment we met in that chicken shop, we just seemed to fit. We’ve been inseparable since.

At first, I have to say I didn’t want to tell any of my friends (apart from you Fanny fans!) about Dick. I suppose I didn’t want to jinx things. But, sure enough, Fanny’s lips weren’t sealed for long and soon everyone was sharing in my love!

The amazing thing is how many friends have said “Dick and Fanny – you just make such a brilliant pairing,” that’s touched Fanny so much.

April to June

My highlight of Spring and early Summer was definitely our trip to the New Forest! Our first trip away together as a couple, Dick couldn’t wait to take me in the wild bushy nether regions and I must say it didn’t disappoint!

Dick and I couldn’t come to the New Forest without enjoying a banger or too!

We hired bikes and cycled around the pretty little villages. It’s actually a little outside the main area, but Ringwood is a particular favourite.

Dick was riding hard and fast, so I was exhausted and saddle sore by the end of the trip.

There was also the small matter of the EU referendum! I didn’t vote but I was actually quite pleased we are getting Brexit.

A word of advice for Theresa May though – go for a hard one! A soft one will only lead to disappointment.

July to September

I’ll remember my summer for another trip to Denmark! You may remember I went a few years ago, well Fanny came again!

She learned all about the Vikings – with their big shiny helmets and skilled swordsmanship.

Fanny was delighted when Dick bought her a present though – see left!

It’s so fun to drink from this big horn and I think Dick had a new found respect for me when I drank it all down in one go.

October to December

Well the year’s not over just yet, but I can hardly believe it’s gone so fast. I remember chuckling when Dick said “Winter is coming” in that voice he does (he’s mad!) but sure enough it’s come all over us before we know it!

One amazing thing was Trump winning the election in America! He likes the attention doesn’t he? He certainly grabbed Fanny’s more than once and I think he’ll continue to do that whenever he likes!

A highlight, which I suppIMG_20161120_054031.jpgose is a little silly, was spotting this little guy on the London underground! I’m not sure what it is, but seeing that furry little thing scuttling around in a dark hole made me feel all warm inside!

Hopefully the rest of the year will be as fun as the year I’ve had so far! I’m hoping to have exciting news about a blogger collaboration for you very soon!

Hope your 2016 has been Fannytastic too.

Fanny Reconstructed!

Hello and welcome back to Fanny’s Haven!

You may have noticed Fanny’s absence recently. Let me explain.

Some time ago, WordPress informed me my domain had expired and wanted to charge me an extortionate fee to get it back. I can’t imagine why anyone else would want Fannyshaven.com so much.

A long story short, after I made an appeal to raise the money to buy the domain back (a number of people who I didn’t even know offered funds!) I have got it back and Fanny can be let loose again!

As I’m relaunching, it made sense for Fanny to have a complete redesign.

So I’ve reconstructed it and I’ve tightened things up so it’ll be a more pleasurable experience on here I hope.

I hope you like the new look, Fannyshaven.com is now even more pink and easier to digest I think.

Inside Fanny & Swedish Meat

Fanny’s been out and about, to make her inside life better!

Yes, that’s right, I went to IKEA this week and I had the time of my life. Fanny’s a big fan of “doing it herself,” so she loves stores like this, where you get so much good quality Scandinavian wood and tools to put it together.

Fanny wanted a nice new rug, so went on the hunt in their store in Tottenham. Oh, what a selection! There were nice thick, furry rugs, interesting woven rugs and low-pile rugs.

Personally Fanny’s always been a fan of a small thin, rug. I had a great one from Brazil I bought many years ago, but I decided I wanted to change from the Brazilian.

In the end I opted for a welcome mat because I just wanted a nice rug that says “welcome to Chez Fanny.”

After an exhausting day looking at rugs (and trying out beds!) I was suddenly very hungry.

I’ve seen Transun are doing a fantastic guide to Scandinavian restaurants with bloggers, so I decided to give IKEA restaurant a go. I have to say, their meatballs are legendary.

Fanny loves a nice meaty meal, and you don’t get balls better than the Swedes! I’m not sure what’s in the sauce but it’s absolutely delicious.

The prices are so cheap:

£3.80 (for 10)

£4.80 (for 15)

£5.80
(for 20)

Naturally I paid the top amount so I could get the most balls for my money. Well worth going to if you’re on the hunt for meat at minimum expense.

All in all, Fanny had a wonderful time shopping and can’t wait to go again.

A Very Fanny Christmas

Welcome back to my blog guys, soooo much has been happening in my life but I don’t want that getting in the way of a Christmas post!

I love Christmas, it’s a time of year when a baby was born many millions of years ago on Christmas Day. Unlike Mary and Joseph, who found no room at the Inn, Fanny always has plenty of room for everyone.

I love that song “Baby it’s Cold Outside,” because I like the thought of offering somewhere warm and inviting to come inside to… as long as they leave a present! Speaking of the cold weather, what are the odds we get a nice White Christmas for once?

So, what’s on the menu this year? Well, Fanny’s no vegetarian and will definitely be getting her fair share of meat! I’ve got my eyes on this extra large bird. which I’m hoping will be stuffed to kingdom come on the big day!

Fanny loves a nice spread, so we’ll have all the accompaniments of course; roast potatoes, sprouts, pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce all with my signature dish ‘Fanny’s Drippy Wings.‘ Simply take the turkey wings and marinade in a creamy sauce.

Fanny's watering at the mouth just looking at it.

Fanny’s mouth is watering just looking at it.

And of course, Fanny likes to get in the spirit of things by playing a few games. In my family, Hide the Parsnip is a Christmas favourite… whoever finds the hidden root vegetable wins!

The tree is up, a nice big one from Scandinavia, you can’t go wrong with Norwegian wood.

Aaaaand of course I haven’t forgotten about pressies! I certainly hope Santa has something to give me from his big sack!

Hope you have an amazing Christmas and New Year!

Fanny Has A Moan

I have to say, Fanny is itching to get something off her chest. I’ve tried keeping it all bottled up inside, but I can feel it seeping out. How can I put this?

Fanny doesn’t want to be rash, but I think the blogging world is getting a lot less friendly and a lot more bitchy since I joined up 5 months ago.

It all started, in my opinion, with Guru Gossiper. For those who don’t know it, it’s a place where people go to be nasty about bloggers. Considering all the benefits bloggers bring to humanity, I think this is pretty low. At least start on the people who deserve it, like politicians, teachers or healthcare workers.

And now, inevitably, they’ve started bashing Fanny. They’re calling me a troll, which I bet is Ashley and Laura up to their old tricks again. They’ve never forgiven me for the incident in the showers at school. They had it coming.

As you, my loyal readers, know I am not a fake blogger! All I want to do is give you a glimpse of the day in the life of Fanny, with it’s ins and outs, ups and downs and comings and goings. If I am sent stuff by PRs I will review them honestly, but really I will do anything so just get in touch seriously.

I’m seeing increasing numbers searching for me specifically, the stats don’t lie and a lot of people are Googling “Fanny” “Fannyshaven” and other terms they know will help find this humble blog.

I’m not going to let the haters win, and will carry on blogging about my life.

Fanny Catchup

So sorry I haven’t been updating recently guys. Things just got away from me. People have been in and out of Fanny’s for the past few weeks. You should see the mess they’ve left. It goes without saying Fanny is feeling a bit sore.

Anyway, I’ll be back soon with some updates from my life, including a trip to a Venezuelan restaurant and a review of my phone.
